The Party of Socialists (PSRM) said the election campaign prior to the parliamentary elections of February 24 was one of the dirtiest in the country’s history. In a news conference on February 22, heavyweights of the party said they identified numerous violations, from the obstruction of the right to vote abroad and in the country, including on the left side of the Nistru, to attacks on persons and use of administrative resources, IPN reports.

According to the PSRM’s secretary for ideology Ion Ceban, the party conducted a correct campaign and intends to win a majority of seats of MP. “We want to tell the people not to be afraid and to vote this Sunday even if they are intimidated, to vote as they consider necessary. We aim to win and will win,” stated Ion Ceban.

The president of the PSRM Zinaida Grecheanyi said the Socialists will not form a coalition with the PDM or the bloc ACUM. She called on the electors to vote in the election and to support the party and its candidates in single-member constituencies.

The Socialist leader noted the Socialist staged over 8,000 meetings with voters where they interacted with over 500,000 people who hope for changes and for a better future at home.
