The Party of Socialists considers the Bloc ACUM’s proposal to convene a Parliament sitting now is unfounded and does not deserve being taken into account. In a press release, the party said the initiative launched by ACUM on May 21 is populist, IPN reports.

“The parliamentary group of the Party of Socialists underlines that in order to overcome the political crisis, a parliamentary majority should be formed or at least the election of the legislature’s leadership at the first stage should be agreed,” said the party. The Socialists confirm their readiness and interest in forming a stable parliamentary majority and a coalition government that would overcome the political crisis, in accordance with the decision of the party’s National Council of April 12, 2019.

The Political Bloc ACUM on May 21 announced that it invited the Socialist parliamentary group to the special sitting of Parliament starting at 2pm so as to choose the legislative body’s administration and to adopt the anti-oligarchic legislative proposals.
