The Socialist Party of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM), puts pressure on their coalition partners, the ACUM bloc, by saying that the executive needs change and tries to obtain as many political dividends as possible. This opinion was expressed by expert Ion Tăbârță. In his opinion, the Socialists' requests do not necessarily mean that they will obtain the respective changes.

"The Socialists felt ACUM bloc's moment of weakness caused by the loss of Chișinău City Hall and is playing political hardball. However, it is not excluded that they really wish to infiltrate the executive branch either by breaking up some ministries or in some other way", said Ion Tăbârță during the TV8 show "Cutia neagră".

The expert considers that the Socialists put pressure on the ACUM bloc, most likely, in the context of the censorship motion initiated in Parliament by the Democratic Party. "PSRM is trying to make the most of the momentum in order to gain more influence inside the ruling coalition", said Ion Tăbârță. The expert does not exclude the fact that the tactics used by the Socialists and President Igor Dodon are applied in the context of future presidential elections, which the current incumbent desires to win, while Prime Minister Maia Sandu could be a serious rival.

However, according to Ion Tăbârță, the scenario of snap elections would not benefit the Socialists, because Renato Usatîi and the Political Party "Partidul Nostru", which share the same electoral base with PSRM, are making a strong comeback into Moldovan politics.

The counselor of the Speaker of Parliament, Fadei Nagacevschi, said that since the elected mayor of Chișinău municipality, Ion Ceban, has made a generous offer to the ACUM bloc, offering certain positions in the mayor's office, the PSRM has the right to ask for something in return. "Currently, PSRM has won the mayoral election of Chișinău municipality. Ion Ceban has already made an offer to the ACUM bloc regarding two mayoral deputy positions and two praetor seats. As far as I understand, if you offer something, you can also ask for something in return. Things must be viewed as a whole", said Nagacevschi.

The counselor said that the justice system reform is stagnating, which is why the management of the Ministry of Justice must be reviewed. "Considering the context, there are two solutions: either the Minister resigns and takes responsibility for the failure, while another minister is appointed, or a technocrat task group is established in order to identify the best project for justice reform", said Fadei Nagacevschi.

According to him, the Socialists have identified the areas of inefficient government activity, which prompted them to demand changes in the government.
