The Party of Socialists of the Republic Moldova (PSRM) accuses the President of Romania Traian Basescu of stirring things up in the Transnistrian region by the statements he made during his visit to Chisinau, suggesting that Transnistria can be abandoned for the sake of Moldova’s integration into the EU, IPN reports.
In a statement issued by the PSRM, the Socialists recommend Traian Basescu to focus on the territorial integrity of his own country and not to impose his opinion about Moldova’s internal policy.
The PSRM reiterates that Moldova’s federalization can be a solution to the Transnistrian conflict. The Transnistrian region will never accept to form again part of Moldova in the form of raions. At the same time, Moldova cannot accept the region to become independent and to be torn away from the country’s body.
