Socialist Party councilors are requesting the continuation of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) meeting, which began on December 19, to approve the municipal budget for 2025. During a briefing on Tuesday, representatives of the Socialist Party faction emphasized the need for the meeting to take place this week and urged other councilors to return to work.
"Let’s start working. The residents of Chisinau need projects and prosperity", stated Ala Antoci-Ursu, Secretary of the PSRM faction in the CMC.
Adrian Lebedinskii, the faction leader, pointed out that the activities of the CMC are blocked due to the disruptive actions of MAN and PAS councilors.
"All factions had the opportunity to vote on the municipal budget proposed by the executive before the New Year. During that CMC meeting, PSRM and PAS councilors formed a coalition, engaged in political speeches, and then left the session. Now, the Municipal Council meeting will be held in the near future", said Natalia Ixari, an advisor to the General Mayor, in a statement to IPN.
