PSDM throws support behind Dorin Chirtoaca

The Social Democrat Party (PSDM) calls on all its voters in Chisinau Municipality to support candidate Dorin Chirtoaca in the second round voting, a press release of the party reads. PSDM expressed its total availability to take part in the set up of a democratic and non-communist majority in the Chisinau Municipal Council and to contribute, by participating in the executive bodies of the City Hall, to improving the life of the residents and to developing the capital. A number of candidates and political parties stated after 3 June that they would support non-communist candidates in the second round. Among them are the Moldova Noastra Alliance Party and its candidate Leonid Bujor, Vladimir Filat, the candidate for mayor on behalf of the Democrat Party, the Christian-Democrat People’s Party, the Social Democracy Party, the Social Liberal Party etc. Veaceslav Iordan and Dorin Chirtoaca will run for Chisinau mayor in the second round voting, with 28% and 24.5%, respectively, collected in round one, according to the recent preliminary results.
