The European Social Democratic Party (PSDE) calls on all the Moldovans who also hold Romanian citizenship to vote massively in the June 9 European Parliament elections and to support the PSD-PNL Alliance. The call was made today by the PSDE chairman Ion Sula at a press conference, IPN reports.

The Social-Democrat leader said that the course of development not only of the European Union and the countries that are part of this big family, but also of those that applied for membership, including the Republic of Moldova, will be decided in those elections.

“Over time, when the Social Democratic Party of Romania was in power and held important positions in the European institutions, it always showed openness and solidarity towards the citizens of the Republic of Moldova. Whether we are talking about education, culture, infrastructure, economy, agriculture, the PSD Romania stood by us, offering us constant support. Today, these reliable friends are those who continue to support us on our path of European integration,” said Ion Sula.

According to him, a responsible and correct choice must now be made, giving support to parties and people who have demonstrated concrete results and deeds for Moldova. In his opinion, it is essential that the support projects for all the Moldovan citizens are continued.

“We urge all the Moldovans holding Romanian citizenship to go and vote on June 9 and support the PSD-PNL political forces, which contend in these elections on a common list and will continue to represent us and be our voice in the European Parliament, but also in the European Commission. Let’s remain united and vote with confidence for those who have shown that they stand by us in the most difficult moments. Let’s vote for a prosperous Moldova in Europe, supported by Romania, through the PSD-PNL Alliance,” the PSDE leader concluded.

For his part, the party’s secretary general Iurie Cazacu thanked the heads of local organizations, mayors, members and sympathizers of the PSDE for their involvement in the campaign prior to the European Parliament elections. He noted that the PSDE team will continue to inform the Moldovans holding Romanian citizenship about the importance of the European Parliament elections, to present materials about the electoral platform and the candidates of the PSD-PNL Alliance for the European Parliament, as well as other relevant information.
