The candidate for mayor of Chisinau of the European Social Democratic Party (PSDE) Vadim Brînzaniuc said the capital city should and can become an engine of the national economy and a business hub. According to him, a long-term strategy is needed and this should include the ensuring of attractive conditions for big companies. Also, Chisinau should have solid industrial zones that would generate jobs close to the home and profit, IPN reports.
In a press briefing, Vadim Brînzaniuc said that today the businesses in Chisinau center mainly on two dimensions – trade and service provision – and this is beneficial, but is not enough. The potential of the city is huge, but is insufficiently realized. “The budget of the municipality of Chisinau can grow only if there are consistent injections that can be ensured by large, local and foreign investors. For the purpose, safety should be ensured for these investors,” stated the candidate.
According to him, the Chisinau City Hall should become a correct partner for the private sector and the vision should be therefore changed so that the capital city becomes an important commercial center.
The aspirant for the mayoralty proposes extending three existing industrial parks. More exactly, he suggests turning them into economic hubs of regional importance in Southeastern Europe. “There will be business parks and they will represent urban development poles at the next stage. There will be technological, industrial, IT centers and creative industries. To increase the economic development pace, the local administration should support policies aimed at developing the city with additional resources, industries,” stated Vadim Brînzaniuc.
As it was decided by draw, Vadim Brînzaniuc of the European Social Democratic Party will be next to No. 8 on the ballot.
