The Social-Democratic Party of Moldova (PSD) says that if it comes to power after elections, it will propose that SA Termocom be liquidated as intermediary in the heat supply in Chisinau. The party’s secretary Eduard Musuc told a news conference on March 3 that the company Chisinau-Energo will be founded instead of it, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Chisinau-Energo will be created by merging Termocom, CET 1 and CET 2.
According to Musuc, the project is estimated at about U$30 million. An investor could be selected by contest to implement it. The PSD secretary considers that the Government could also provide the necessary amount of money. He said that the money could be allocated from a $3 billion loan that China intends to provide to Moldova. Musuc also said that the new project would enable to decrease the heating bills for consumers. “We will finally know who is responsible for this sector,” he added.
Ruslan Barladeanu, a member of the National Council of the PSD, said that the cost of heat after restructuring will be zero and the people will pay only for the transportation of heat to apartments. “According to modern standards, the heat is a residual product whose production is secondary to the production of electrical energy. In Moldova, it is the wrong way up,” Barladeanu said.
The PSD leader in the Chisinau Municipal Council Emil Gutu said that direct contracts between Chisinau-Energo and the end-users will be signed and the company will transport the heat up to the apartments, not to the block as it is done at present.
The administration of SA Termocom made no comments on the PSD’s statements.
