The volume of water in the Prut and Nistru Rives is within the norm. The level of water in these rivers will not increase significantly as a result of new torrential rain, Valentina Ceres of the State Hydrometeorology Service, has told IPN.
“Only the precipitation that falls in the upper course of the river, near the Carpathian Mountains in Ukraine, influences the level of water,” said the specialist.
The small rivers from the southern and central parts of the country caused incline floods and rises of over two meters in the water level. The level of water in the lake in “Valea Morilor” Park rose by about two meters, while in the Byk – by over one meter. At country level, the rise was about 1 meter.
