Provision of social welfare to Chisinau budget-paid employees withdrawn from agenda again

The examination of the decision concerning the provision of social financial assistance to budget-paid employees in Chisinau was again postponed. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca argued that deputy mayor Mihai Furtuna, who is responsible for this segment, was absent, Info-Prim Neo reports. At Thursday's meeting of the Chisinau Council, the leader of the Communist faction Valery Pavlov said the employees of the City Hall are irresponsible. “Nobody cares about these persons. The issue has been withdrawn because the persons in charge are indifferent,” he said. “Certain figures should be corrected,” Dorin Chirtoaca said. According to him, it is a technical procedure that will be completed by the next meeting of the Council. “The welfare will anyway be provided, no matter when the decision is approved,” the mayor said. The social welfare for January 1 – December 1, 2010 totals 30.648,4 million lei. It is intended for employees of the social sphere and executive and administrative bodies of the municipality of Chisinau whose monthly salary is lower than 1,450 lei. The recipients will get 120 to 130 lei a month.
