Valentin Eșanu, who runs a metal business, said that a protest will be mounted in the center of Chisinau on March 1 to seek the dismissal of the Government and holding of snap parliamentary elections. According to him, the people no longer trust the current rulers who show disrespect for them.
In a news conference at IPN, Valentin Eșanu said a statement on the recognition of the state capture was adopted in Parliament and he considers the state continues to be captured. “We reached such a situation when the state can no longer bring things in our country in order. We have to defend our rights ourselves. We want to mobilize people from all the districts of the Republic of Moldova. We must all take to the streets in force, teachers, students, everyone,” stated Valentin Eșanu.
According to him, everyone is welcomed to the protest, but there should be disseminated no geopolitical messages. “Let’s mobilize altogether as it will be late tomorrow. All the schemes of Plahotniuc are implemented by the Party of Socialists now. If we do not stop them now and allow them to take roots, it will be very hard to cut these roots, as in the case of Plahotniuc. Personally, I do not concede and do not kneel down before Dodon and the government,” noted Valentin Eșanu.
The businessman said an initiative group will be set up and those who want to form part of it can come to the Monument to Ruler Stephan the Great and Holy on February 21 at 5pm. Organizational aspects will be disused on Saturday and Sunday, February 22 and 23, in the same place.
Valentin Eșanu stated the protest will start at midday on March 1 and the preliminary statement submitted to the Chisinau City Hall indicated such protest venues as the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral “God’s Birth” and the square in front of the Parliament Building. The protest cannot be mounted in the central square of Chisinau as the Party of Socialists reserved the square for each Friday, Saturday and Sunday until 2025.
