Protests in Transnistria

The residents of Transnistria will stage a protest rally in the main square of Tiraspol, Suvorov Square, on May 17. The participants will protest against the rise in the prices of goods and public utilities and against the low salaries and pensions, Info-Prim Neo’s correspondent in Transnistria informs. The Social Democratic Party of Transnistria is the initiator of the protest. The rally was authorized by the central Transnistrian administration.
On the initiative of the Communist Party of Transnistria, a protest will be held in Dubasari town on May 25. It was planned for May 11, but the central administration banned it for the reason that the Communist Party has not been yet officially registered.
There are 10 political parties in Transnistria at present: two Communist Parties, “Obnovlenie” , “Respublica”, “Patrioticeskaya Partia Pridnestrovia”, “Proryv”, “Narodnaya Volea”, the Liberal-Democratic Party, “Spravedlivaya Respublica”, the Social-Democratic Party of Transnistria.
