Members of the Youth Organization of the Liberal Democratic Party from Moldova (PLDM) have staged a flash-mob in front of the Presidential Palace claiming to step up the signing of the Convention on minor frontier traffic at the border with Romania. It has had the slogan “Green light for Europe,” Info-Prim Neo reports.
For 2 minutes, the young people have stood on one leg, their right hand after the head. Question marks, “When?”, “Yes to the free movement at the border”, “The People won't yield!”, “The fight goes on!” were written on their green posters.
They painted fences on their legs. One of them, introducing himself as Serghei Slonin, said the fence signified violating the Moldovan citizens' rights to travel free to Romania and Europe.
Asked what the 'one leg, hand after head' meant, the leader of the Chisinau organization, Vadim Antoni, has said “that gesture signifies the position of the serf in society, not having the right to decide on, to assert and to take an attitude towards his own rights. The villein used to be humiliated, ordered and oppressed all his life.” “The flash-mob was addressed to the president and the presidency, first and foremost, because the president is directly involved and the coordinator of everything happening in a parliamentary country, unfortunately,” he said.
This is the 4th flash-mob staged by the young Liberal Democrats from Moldova to speed up the signing of the Convention on minor frontier traffic with Romania.
They used to protest in front of other state agencies before. “If we finish to protest in front of all, we'll start over again,” they said.
