About 20 persons have protested this morning in front of the Chisinau City Hall, where the municipal councilors came together for the last meeting this summer. The protesters tried to enter the City Hall by force, but were stopped by the police. One of the police officers got his epaulettes torn away.
The people demanded stopping the construction of an apartment building on Alba Iulia St in Buiucani district. They said the City Hall also authorized a company to erect attic-like apartments on a building on the same street, but that building is too old and will not resist.
A number of passersby, who were witnesses to the altercations with the police, said the protesters were under the influence of alcohol. The latter denied this.
