Thousands of people from Chisinau and from the country’s districts responded to President-elect Maia Sandu’s call and came to the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau to protest. The protesters chanted “We are the power”, “Maia Sandu and the people!”, “Snap elections”, “Down with the mafia!”, “In jail!”, “Shor and Dodon, into garbage bin!”. The protesters demanded that the current Cabinet should resign and that snap parliamentary elections should be held. The mobilized police officers and carabineers formed a cordon around the Government Building. Vehicle traffic didn’t have access to the area, IPN reports.

The head of the parliamentary group of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) Igor Grosu said the people scored a victory on November 15 and this victory was obtained with difficulty, in an unequal battle, with risks. Today the people came to defend this first victory. According to him, a “wedding” of the thieves who decided to compromise this victory was witnessed in Parliament the previous days. The place of these thieves, who try to limit the President-elect’s powers, is in jail.

Vice president of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Alexandru Slusari said the people had to take to the streets, being imposed by Igor Dodon, who stole what he could in this country. Igor Dodon, increased of admitting his defeat and of leaving, endangers state security and, through the agency of the Government, attempts to promote all kinds of bills.

“We, those from the DA Platform propose a very simple plan. The Constitutional Court is to validate the mandate of missis Maia Sandu on December 10. On this day, but not earlier than December 10, Mister Chicu should leave. On the same day or the next day at the latest, Missis Sandu should take an oath of allegiance as this is necessary for the country’s security and we should not wait for Dodon to betray the country,” stated Alexandru Slusari. “When the President-elect is invested, the Chicu Government should resign. The leavening by the “ShorDon” coalition will lead to snap elections.”

President-elect Maia Sandu said that only three weeks have passed since the election campaign ended, but the people’s patience is tested already. “Angry that he didn’t manage to cheat the people, Igor Dodon is trying to set the country on fire, to deepen the crisis, to cause chaos and to make people’s lives worse. This way, he tries to take revenge on the people for not voting for him. He sticks to power so that he and his comrades could steal further stated,” Maia Sandu.

“Ignoring the vote of November 15, he formed a shameful PSRM-Shor majority that turned Parliament into a hen coop. This majority is formed of the MPs who took part in the billion theft and who, during a mandate, managed to sell themselves three times,” stated the politician. According to her, this anarchy should be stopped and the only way is to organize snap parliamentary elections, after the Government’s resignation.
