Prosecutors will work on election day

On November 27 and 28, the employees of the local prosecutor's offices will work from 8am until 10pm in order to ensure the examination of applications concerning the violation of the electoral legislation, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Prosecutor General's Office (PG). Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubko made an ordinance, obliging the local prosecutors to gather all the information about the violation of the electoral legislation to the PG and to examine them as urgent matters. The prosecutors will react promptly to the violations of the electoral legislation and inform the responsible electoral bodies and other competent institutions. According to Valeriu Zubco, the measures are aimed at preventing the multiple violations witnessed in the April 5, 2009 legislative elections. The guaranteeing of the people's constitutional right to elect and be elected, especially in order to effectively investigate the possible cases of vote rigging, will be a priority for the local prosecutors, the Prosecutor General said.
