The Prosecutor General's Office cannot identify the persons who provoked the April 7, 2009 events as the pictures and images submitted to the Ministry of the Interior were taken at the instruction of the former administration of the Ministry. Prosecutor Valeriu Zubco said the pictures of the police officers give no new details and he finds out more information from the press or the questioned persons than from the investigation bodies. Zubco also said that the Prosecutor's Office intends to complete the investigations into the April 7 events by the end of this month, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Prosecutor General expressed his opinion at a meeting called by Acting President Mihai Ghimpu on June 8 to see why the Ministry of Justice, the Security and Information Center, the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime and the Prosecutor General's Office do not cooperate. “The Ministry of the Interior and the Security and Information Center have the capacity to identify persons, but we receive only partial information. We want not only pictures of persons who were already questioned as witnesses, but also pictures with persons calling to break the law,” Valeriu Zubco said. Minister of the Interior Victor Catan said the institution he heads sent all the images to the Prosecutor General's Office. They were mounted while the Ministry was headed by Gheorghe Papuc. He stressed that the documents classed as secret and the original videos disappeared. Catan said he named ten persons from the Ministry of the Interior to be investigated, but legal cases were opened only against former Minister of the Interior Gheorghe Papuc and former police commissioner of Chisinau Vladimir Botnari.
