Eugen Tapu and Maxim Caneshchev did not die during the April 2009 events. Such a conclusion was reached by prosecutors after reassessing the materials of the medical examination. In the case of Ion Tibuleac, who allegedly died during the April protests, the Prosecutor's Office of the municipality of Chisinau decided to start a legal case, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the Prosecutor General's Office.
The Prosecutor's Office launched a news investigation into the death of the three young persons after the mass media started to publish more and more stories about this case. The prosecutors ordered additional medical examinations.
The new examinations confirmed the initial conclusions concerning the deaths of Eugen Tapu and Maxim Caneshchev. It was thus established that their deaths are not connected with the April 2009 events. According to the examination report, Eugen Tapu died 2-3 weeks before the body was examined, while Maxim Caneshchev – in March.
Early in February, the prosecutors, in concert with medical examiners and other specialists in the field, started to reexamine the primary conclusions regarding the death of Ion Tibuleac, who presumably fell from a lamp post.
The commission of medical examiners considers an additional examination should be carried out to determine the origin of the bodily injuries received by Ion Tibuleac. The prosecutors will identify and interrogate the persons who saw how the police arrested Tibuleac on April 7, 2009, as the press reported.
