The Prosecutor General's Office has apologized to the leader of the Our Moldova Alliance, Serafim Urecheanu, and to other member of the party, Ion Plesca, for being placed under criminal investigation without substantiated reasons, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a press statement from the Office. Criminal proceedings against Urecheanu and Plesca were started in late 2008 for allegedly plotting to assassinate Iurie Rosca, leader of the Christian Democratic Party and deputy speaker of parliament at the time. Proceedings were ended later for “the lack of constituting elements of a crime”. The reason for initiating proceedings against the two politicians was a tip from the alleged contract killer. Urecheanu and Plesca dismissed the allegations, saying it was a hoax fabricated by Rosca himself and carried out by the law enforcement bodies.
