Prosecutor’s Office and trade unions aim to better protect labor rights

The Prosecutor General’s Office and the National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova signed an agreement to maintain and develop the bilateral cooperation by respecting the rights and freedoms of the employees at work and preventing and combating crime in the area, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the PG. The parties agreed to exchange information about cases of violation of the labor legislation and experience in defending the rights and freedoms of the salary earners, when the infringement of these rights is punished criminally or administratively, and to engage specialists in identifying the problems and deficiencies resulting in accidents at work and professional diseases. The parties will also take measures to develop the relevant legal framework, adjust the national legislation to the international standards on the protection of the labor rights, coordinate the actions in preventing and combating crime in the labor relations and study the causes and consequences that generate or favor criminality at work and use of forced labor. The cooperation agreement was signed by Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubko and the Confederation’s chairman Oleg Budza.
