A prosecutor from Glodeni was charged with abuse of power and falsification of public documents. As a result of investigations, it was established that the prosecutor, dealing with a criminal case started again a person accused of swindle, committed a number of violations, profiting from his position, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the conclusions of the judicial examination report, the signatures put against the name of the lawyer and the accused in a number of procedural documents and indictment orders, the report on the questioning of the accused and other documents drawn up by the prosecutor in the case he managed didn’t belong to them, but were forged by another person. The lawyer and his client didn’t even take part in the given procedural acts.
The prosecutor does not admit his guilt and was dismissed. The criminal case was sent to the Glodeni-based Drochia Court for Examination. The court is to also examine another case started against the same prosecutor over misconduct in office.
The prosecutor faces a fine of 67,500 to 117,500 lei or two to six years in jail, in both of the cases with ban on holding particular posts for a period of five to ten years.
