The leader of the Party “Building Europe at Home” (PACE) Gheorghe Cavcaliuc didn’t show up at the Sângerei Prosecutor’s Office on July 16. Consequently, the prosecutor ordered his arrest for familiarizing him with the indictment, IPN reports.

The Prosecutor General’s Office said it rejected the request of citizen Cavcaliuc to withdraw the “brilliant green” case from the Sângerei Prosecutor’s Office and to transfer it to another responsible institution given the absence of circumstances specified by the Penal Procedure Code and informed him about this.

Gheorghe Cavcaliuc didn’t go to the Sângerei Prosecutor’s Office for being charged and his lawyers said that they are on leave. According to prosecutors, this reason cannot lead to the suspension of the planned procedures and in such situations the state provides the suspect with a lawyer.

On April 6 this year, a number of PACE members splashed brilliant green on the deputy head of Sângerei district and the latter was hospitalized. These face a fine or a maximum jail term of five years.

In a reaction on Facebook, Gheorghe Cavcaliuc said prosecutors’ actions represent revenge taken on him and his mates from PACE. “The abuses and illegalities of the Prosecutor General’s Office and prosecutor Zaharia continue on the instruction of corrupt politicians and chiefs who will soon vacate their posts,” he said, noting prosecutor Ludmila Zaharia of the Sângerei Prosecutor’s General’s Office is blackmailable and he will insist that she and her husband and those who blackmail her to make her commit those illegalities against him and PACE be held accountable

Gheorghe Cavcaliuc said he will soon make disclosures about another case handled by prosecutor Zaharia by order at her previous job.
