By order of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, the charges against acting Minister of Culture Boris Focsa were dropped as there were discovered no elements constituting an offense. Prosecutor General Corneliu Gurin ordered reexamining the case, IPN has learned from the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO).

“Taking notice of the unclear procedures by which the charges against Minister Boris Focsa were dropped, Prosecutor General Corneliu Gurin ordered reexamining the situation and taking the required measures to establish the circumstances that led to the issuing of the given ordinance,” the PGO said in a communiqué.

The examination of the criminal case concerning the commission of illegalities by decision makers of the Ministry of Culture and a number of subordinate public institutions will go on.

Boris Focsa is suspected of illegally selling a number of monument buildings in Chisinau.
