The Economy Ministry's proposal to include the chidlren's camp located in Romanest village of Straseni district in the list of facilities that will be privatized aroused controversy among the ministers, Info-Prim Neo reports. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar said the camp, which is 6.1 hectares in area, belonged to the production association Mezon. In 2004, after the company was declared insolvent, the camp was transferred to the National Olympic Committee. However, the Committee was unable to attract investments and build training grounds for Olympic teams there. In 2005, the camp was taken over by the Ministry of Education. Minister of Youth and Sport Ion Cebanu said the camp has all the necessary infrastructure and can be transformed into training grounds at a cost of 2-3 million lei. The Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Education consider the camp should remain a recreational and educational center after privatized. Prime Minister Vlad Filat said the attraction of investments to revitalize the camp is a good solution, but more discussions are to be held to identify an optimal solution. According to him, the inclusion of the camp in the list of facilities that will be privatized does not mean that it will be privatized the second day.
