Property owners with overdue taxes will be contacted in the course of the next two weeks by tax collectors who will inform them of their debts and about ways to pay them. As of the end of October, the overall debt was 66 million lei.
Adrian Platon, spokesperson for the Fiscal Service, said failure to meet tax deadlines is punishable by penalties for each day of delay.
As of 1 January 2021, the late-filing penalty is 0.0219% per day of the amount due.
