Promo-LEX’s election observation mission ascertained that the polling places established in the country are insufficiently prepared for the October 30 presidential elections. The monitoring report No. 4 says cases of use of administrative resources by election runners, which can be classified as offering of electoral presents, and costs not indicated in financial reports presented by electoral competitors have been identified in the monitored period, IPN reports.

The observers visited more than 1,800 polling places and informed about the absence of access to the Internet, telephone and anti-fire means as well as of proper lighting and wheelchair access in some of these.

Promo-LEX’s mission established that administrative resources continue to be used to promote a candidate or potential candidates. Also, Marian Lupu, Mihai Ghimpu, Iurie Leanca, Igor Dodon, Silvia Radu, and Inna Popenko had electoral posters placed in banned places such as fences, poles, gates ad stations. The observers of Promo-LEX also identified cases of activities denigrating electoral opponents.

According to the observers, nine electoral competitors didn’t report particular costs incurred for producing promotional materials to the Central Election Commission.
