The Promo-LEX Association asks the President, Prime Minister and the Reintegration Policies Bureau to immediately take efficient measures to determine the whereabouts of Adrian Glijin and to obtain his immediate and unconditional release from illegal detention. Adrian Glijin was kidnapped by five persons with balaclavas at about 1pm on October 7, on a field near Cuzmin village of Camenca deistic. The man is 41, is married and has three children, one of whom is a minor, IPN reports.

In the morning of October 8, between 4am and 7am, several persons in civvies entered his house in Cuzmin (Camenca) and, in the presence of the children and wife of Adrian Glijin, searched the house and took all the storage devices, such as the laptop, tablet PC, cellphones, including those that belonged to his wife, brother-in-law and child. One of those dressed in civvies said that Adrian Glijin is accused of “treason”.

Promo-LEX requests the Prosecutor General’s Office to investigate the kidnapping of Adrian Glijin in accordance with the Penal Code of the Republic of Moldova, to take legal action and to make considerable effort to hold accountable the persons who took part in the kidnaping, while the embassies, the OSCE Mission to Moldova, the Joint Control Commission and the Ombudsman are asked to monitor the situation of the observance of Adrian Glijin’s rights and to condemn the abusive behavior of the de facto bodies of the Transnistrian region.

Promo-LEX expresses its concern about the increasing number of cases of violation of the basic human rights in the eastern region of the Republic of Moldova, especially of kidnapping of persons.

During these days, the Promo-LEX Association was also informed about other cases of kidnapping of persons by the de facto bodies of the Transnistrian region. Apparently, the epidemiological situation and the effects of the declaring by the de facto Transnistrian administration of the state of emergency are used to strengthen the effective control in the Transnistrian region through measures aimed at intimidating the inhabitants of the Security Zone and serious cases of violation of the basic human rights.

A policeman from Florești was kidnapped while in the yard of his house in Camenca district by employees of the Transnistrian forces on October 7. The criminal case started over kidnapping of a person and usurpation of the official position was transmitted to the Prosecutor’s Office to Organized Crime and Special Cases for continuing the investigation.
