The team of observers of “Promo-LEX” ascertained that the electoral functionaries do not obey the working program and allow not to declare all the campaign funds by candidates. Report No. 1 of the observation mission for the May 14 new local elections was presented in a news conference on May 12, IPN reports.
The observers determined at least two cases of use of administrative resources by candidates in the monitored period (April 14 – May 5) - the candidate fielded by the Party of Socialists in Pervomaisc village of Causeni district and the independent candidate for mayor of Tvardita town of Taraclia district. The administrative sources were used by involving employees of public institutions in electoral propaganda activities and of representatives of public authorities of the upper level in promotional activities during working hours.
There were identified at least three cases that can be described as offering of goods and services in election campaigns. These involved representatives of the PSRM, PDM and PCRM.
The observation mission of “Promo-LEX” also established that at least six election runners - PSRM, PCRM, PDM, PL, PPPDA and independent candidate Corneliu Tuni – used campaign funds that they didn’t fully declare. The undeclared costs came to at least 24,000 lei.
The observation mission covered all the seven settlements where local mayoral elections will be held on May 14.
