The students and teachers of “Grătieștiˮ Theoretical Lyceum will now enjoy better conditions of study and teaching following the completion of the municipal project to thermally insulate the three blocks of the school, including the boiler room, with ecological building and inoffensive material, IPN reports, with reference to the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of Chisinau.
Over 40 new windows and external doors were set up and the building’s foundation was covered with terracotta. A drainage system was built up to avoid the wetting of walls.
The deputy mayor of the municipality of Chisinau Angela Kutasevich said that the City Hall aims to invest in education by creating appropriate, modern and friendly learning and teaching conditions. The investment of over 2 million lei in this lyceum has an impact and is sustainable.
Grătieștiˮ Theoretical Lyceum principal Inga Prohor said that owing to the municipality, they managed to implement a project that is essential for their school that this year celebrated six decades of its founding. “The effects of thermal rehabilitation are visible: the heat bills are by almost 30% lower,” said the director the education institution that is attended by over 500 students.
