A group of children from Ukraine brought messages of peace to Moldova. The children wrote messages of peace, happiness and love on papers of the colors of the tricolor and stuck them on Moldova’s map. With these messages, the children visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and the Parliament Building, IPN reports.

The organizers said the project promotes the peaceful resolution of conflicts, the general human values, tolerance and good neighborhood between peoples by the contribution of children from a number of regions of Ukraine, including the conflict areas.

Hungary’s horrific consul in Ivano-Frankovsk Vasilii Vyshivaniuc said the project’s activities consist in the visiting of a number of states in Europe to present the project, its objectives and the achieved results and to decorate a symbolic map of the world with children’s messages. “Our children wish the other children peace. They are not selfish and understand that three should be peace all over the world, not only in Ukraine. They saw the terrorist attacks in Brussels, Paris, Istanbul, in Syria and decided to come together and speak about peace because it is easier to reach adults’ hearts through children,” he stated.

According to project coordinator Anna Krysiuk, the Republic of Moldova is the 16th country in the project’s itinerary that includes 35 states. “We will create a new map of Moldova with messages of peace, which we will transmit to Ukraine, while the map prepared by children from Ukraine will be officially transmitted with the assistance of Moldova’s ambassadors for peace,” she said.

The manager of the group of children from Ukraine Svetlana Mandricenko said that such forums that involve politicians, representatives of civil society and children contribute to achieving the key goal – peace. “For us, it is a great honor to take part, together with you, in such an important international forum that pursues one goal – to unite everyone around the peace theme,” stated Svetlana Mandricenko.

The project “Children for peace all over the world” was launched on December 1, 2015. Similar activities were staged in Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Serbia, Slovenia, Estonia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland. The project is implemented by the Ukrainian Community in Moldova and the Association of Ukrainian Youth in Moldova “Zlagoda” in partnership with the charity organization “Vozrojdenie Prikarpatia Fund”, the Embassy of Hungary in Ukraine, the Honorific Consulate of Hungary in Ivano-Frankovsk and Ukraine’s Embassy in Moldova.
