A guidebook that explains the procedures for legalizing and integrating Moldovan migrants into the Russian Federation was presented by jurists of the project “90180.ru” in Moldova in a news conference at IPN. The guidebook will be distributed free to persons who will seek legal aid.

Jurist of the project “90180.ru” Yevgheny Paniko said that by this guidebook the team aims to inform the migrant population and to educate it on the legislation. “It describes the procedures for registering, obtaining a patent and where one should go to get a patent. It also presents jurists’ recommendations about the most common problems,” he stated.

The guidebook specifies the documents needed for working safety in Russia, such as the migration card, certificates showing that the applicants know the Russian language, history and legislation, the patent, health certificate and proof of the existence of a work contract.

The jurist recommended the future migrants, before leaving the country, to check if they are not banned from entering the territory of the Russian Federation. This can be done by calling the Directorate for Migration Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. If they intend to work in Russia, they should indicate that they go to Russia to work or they will be unable to apply for a patent.

“After receiving the patent, during two months they should find a job. A work patent is not issued to citizens who live in the Russian Federation temporarily or permanently, to participants in the citizen displacement program and persons who study at higher education institutions, to those who have state accreditation and journalists,” stated Yevgheny Paniko.

Those who have questions about migration for work purposes in Russia can seek free legal advice in the office located at 22 Traian Blvd in Chisinau.
