Program of Romanian President’s visit to Chisinau

During his official visit to Moldova, the President of Romania Klaus Iohannis will have meetings with President Nicolae Timofti, the Prime Minister, the Head of Parliament and with the leaders of the pro-European parliamentary groups. The Romanian head of state will also lay flowers at the monument to Ruler Stephan the Great and will give a speech before students of the State University of Moldova, IPN reports, quoting the presidential press service.

According to the program, the delegation led by Klaus Iohannis will arrive by a special plane at the Chisinau International Airport at 15:15pm on February 24. At 15:35pm, an official ceremony will be held at the State Residence on Nicolae Iorga St to meet the Romanian head of state. Afterward, Klaus Iohannis and Nicolae Timofti will have tête-à-tête discussions and will then take part in the official discussions involving members of the two delegations. At 5pm, the two heads of state will give a joint news conference.

At 5:30pm, Klaus Iohannis will have a meeting with Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici at the State Residence. An official dinner will be held at the winery “Cricova” at 7:20pm.

The next day at 9am, the Romanian head of state will have a meeting with the chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat, at 9:35am – with the chairman of the Democratic Party Marian Lupu, while at 10:10am – with the leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu. At 10:45am, Klaus Iohannis will meet with Head of Parliament Andrian Candu. All the meetings will take place at the State Residence situated on Nicolae Iorga St.

After the meetings, at 11:30am, Klaus Iohannis will lay flowers at the monument to Stephan the Great and Holy in Chisinau. At 12:30pm, he will deliver a speech before students of the State University. At 12:50pm, the plane of the Romanian head of state will take off for Bucharest.
