The President of Moldova Nicolae Timofti is paying an official visit to Bucharest on February 16-17. Today the head of state will have meetings with his Romanian counterpart Klaus Iohannis, Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos, President of the Senate Calin Popescu-Tariceanu and other officials, IPN reports.
At 10.30am, Nicolae Timofti is met at the Cotroceni Palace, where he will confer with Klaus Iohannis. At 12 noon, the two officials give a joint news conference.
At 1:30pm, the head of state meets with Dacian Ciolos in the Government Building, while at 3:30pm with Calin Popescu-Tariceanu. No statements for the press will be made after these meetings.
According to the Moldovan presidential press service, the discussions will center on the bilateral relations, Moldova’s European agenda and the cooperation at economic, political and social levels.
President Nicolae Timofti will also hand over the awards presented earlier to President Klaus Iohannis, head of the Department for Emergency Situations of the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs Raed Arafat and Romanian actor Florin Piersic.
