The celebration of the 25th anniversary of Moldova’s Independence will start the National Awards Gala on August 26, at the Palace of the Republic. August 27 will begin with dignitaries laying flowers at the “Mourning Mother” monument and at the statue of Stephen the Great in Chisinau, IPN reports.
According to a press release of the government, the Great National Assembly Square will host a military parade, the Hora of the People musical dance show, the folkloric performance “For you, my country”, a parade of traditional costumes and brass bands.
People will get to listen to the most beloved songs from our national folklore and to admire traditional dances as performed by the Joc ensemble, as part of the folkloric show “Rose from Moldova”. The program also includes an open air screening of a recap of cultural events from 1991-2015 dedicated to the Independence Day and a documentary titled “Sovereign Moldova”.
In the evening, the PMAN stage will host the musical-poetic show “The Binding of Times”, which will end with a fireworks spectacle. The evening will be capped off with a concert of Zdob si Zdub.
This year, Moldova celebrates 25 years since the Parliament adopted the Declaration of Independence on August 27, 1991.
