The article forms part of IPN’s series to present candidates for mayor of the municipality of Balti at the general local elections of November 5, 2023.
The Political Party “Force of Alternative and Salvation of Moldova” put forward Anastasia Svetlichnyi as a candidate for mayor of the municipality of Balti in the November 5 local election. She was born in 1988 in the municipality of Chisinau and is a journalist by profession.
In June 2022, in the mayoral runoff vote held in Getlova commune of Orhei district, 468 of the 918 electors voted for Anastasia Svetlichnyi, who was then fielded by the Shor Party that was declared unconstitutional this June. Anastasia Svetlichnyi appears also on the slate of candidates for member of Parliament of the Republic of Moldova for the snap election of July 11, 2021 on behalf of the Shor Party, next to No. 31.
A CV published on the Parliament’s website shows that in 1995-2007, she studied at the Theoretical Lyceum “Gheorghe Asachi”. Since 2007 until 2011, she studied for a bachelor’s at the Moldova State University, the Faculty of Law. In 2013-2015, she studied for a master’s at the Moldova State University, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences.
In 2011-2017, she worked as a journalist at different medial service providers. Since 2018, she has worked as a freelancer, PR consultant.
Anastasia Svetlichnyi doesn’t campaign in the public space and in social media. The candidate didn’t respond to IPN’s request to provide additional information about herself and her priorities in the campaign prior to the Balti mayoral election. In the first telephone discussion with IPN’s reporter, she undertook to provide the requested information, but didn’t do it and didn’t answer the phone afterward.
For the period between January 2022 and December 2022, the candidate declared 60,000 lei earnings from the Getlova mayor’s office. No other information is indicated.
Following a draw, it was decided that Anastasia Svetlichnyi will be next to No. 15 on the ballot.
