The Medicines and Medical Devices Agency’s duty to coordinate the process of supplying drugs to hospitals will be carried out by the Center for Centralized Public Procurement in Health. The Official Gazette of October 11 contains the Government Decision on the creation of the Center, IPN reports.
The new institution will receive, process and systematize information form public health facilities about the necessities of medicines and medical devices, will compile the list of preparations that are to be purchased and will then hold public tender contests to buy these.
The Center will also deal with the signing, monitoring and supervision of the proper fulfillment of the public procurement contracts by economic operators and by hospitals.
