Eleven teams of young people, including from the Transnistrian region, presented social theater plays on topical subjects for young people in the fourth National Social Theater Festival that was held in Chisinau on November 30, IPN reports.
According to the Peer Education Network, which organized the event, the treated subjects concerned the problems faced by young people in adolescence, including efficient communication with parents, responsibility for family life, protection of reproductive health, prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, HIV and unwanted pregnancies, risky behaviors and communication over the Internet.
As the previous years, the goal of the festival was to inform the public about the unfavorable consequences of an unhealthy lifestyle.
In the end, the best theater teams were awarded. The top place was taken by the team of educators “Y-PEER Orhei”, the second place by the team of the secondary school of Bahrinesti, Floresti, while the third place by the team “Young People for Young People” of the Cimislia Center for Child-Friendly Services. The special prize went to “Y-PEER Nisporeni”.
In December, the teams that took part in the festival will present the plays at education institutions in the settlements of the district from where they come.
