The district heads of Moldova face financial difficulties and delays in the allocation of budget resources and subsidies, district heads said in a working meeting chaired by Prime Minister Pavel Filip. These complained about the normative and legislative shortcomings concerning the management of goods, especially in education, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, the heads of the local public authorities of the second level said the salaries in the budget-funded sector are low and this generates shortages of personnel in the public institutions. These also spoke about the necessity of stimulating the implementation of projects in such areas as infrastructure, road building, environment protection and agriculture development and of identifying markets for selling national products.

Pavel Filip instructed that all the subjects raised in the meeting should be examined in detail by the competent institutions. He underlined the importance of ensuring an efficient dialogue between the state institutions of all the levels.

“Our common objective is clear and simple: the people of the Republic of Moldova must live better here at home, in a country built on the European values. This depends on us all, not only on the Government and the local public administration. That’s why I think that it’s wrong to separate the powers. When we manage to unite everything that is related to the public administration, we will achieve better results,” stated the Premier.

Pavel Filip also spoke about the latest developments and the Government’s priorities for the immediate future, the actions taken to stabilize the socioeconomic situation in the country and the dialogue held with Moldova’s partners for regaining confidence and restoring the cooperation relations so as to ensure the country’s sustainable development.

The Government is also making concerted efforts to advance the dialogue with the IMF and other external partners so as to obtain the assistance needed to resume the development projects.
