Problem of aggressiveness among pupils gains momentum: psychologists

Managers and school staffs discussed, at a teaching seminar on Thursday, February 5, ways for diminishing pupils’ aggressiveness, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The problem of aggressiveness gains force. Children learn how to be aggressive and undertake the behavior of heroes from movies. Our seminars come to diminish this negative impact, through instructing staffs, psychologists and managers from Moldovan schools,” Lucia Savca, a doctor lecturer at the State Pedagogical University “I. Creanga,” the director of the Diagnostic and Rehabilitation Center “Armonie,” maintains. Lucia Savca says that a great part of school psychologists, who have the most important role in solving the problem, are insufficiently prepared professionally, especially the staff from villages and district centers of the country. “Practically, all universities have opened chairs of psychology, but they don’t have specialists for instructing future psychologists correctly and efficiently. We have notified the Ministry of Education about this problem, because we see that the distribution of hours for the school psychologists is made unjustly,” Lucia Savca added. “At instruction seminars we are offered many processed data, so that we can apply them directly in our work,” Svetlana Solomitchi, a psychologist at Alexandru cel Bun high school from Sangera town said. “In the process of diminishing aggressiveness, we work not only with pupils, but also with their teachers and parents.” Eugenia Caraianu, the manager of school-kindergarten 9 from Botanica district of Chisinau, says that aggressiveness is not only among elder pupils, but also among pupils of small school age. “The psychologist must keep a notice of this scourge. I opt for their presence in schools, because the pupils’ abnormalities must be stopped from the earliest age.” The instruction seminars for school managers, staffs and psychologists are monthly organized by the Diagnostic and Rehabilitation Center “Armonie.”
