“Nothing was done to ensure studies of a high quality and conditions of safety for students and teachers and the parents have to carry the burden of the epidemiological situation without support from the state,” Pro Moldova head Andrian Candu stated in a press briefing.

According to him, in such conditions, the bill to provide child care leave up to the child’s age of ten when the education institutions are closed or the children are involved in distance learning, which was submitted on July 17, should be examined immediately. The allowance should not be lower than the average official salary and the given period should be included in the worked period.

The education institutions were closed on March 11 and the education process continued online. On September 1, the process will be resumed in schools and kindergartens based on distinct programs approved by each institution apart.
