The Pro Moldova Party that is not running in the July 11 snap parliamentary elections launched an information campaign titled “Vote with the Head”. In a press release, the party says the campaign will help the voters to make a conscious choice by analyzing the electoral offers and collecting signatures in support of a petition that stipulates measures to make the future MPs responsible, IPN reports.
By this petition, Pro Moldova will ask the newly elected Parliament and the President to introduce by law the obligation to ensure the minimum subsistence level for each citizen of the Republic of Moldova.
“If the minimum subsistence level (2,100 lei per 2021) is not ensured during a period of sixth months of mandate, the Parliament should be immediately dissolved. The introduction of punishment for the inaction of MPs is the only measure that will work,” said Pro Moldova president Andrian Candu.
Pro Moldova decided not to become involved in the current election campaign as a contender, arguing this campaign is rather a struggle of conceits between two political players than a competition of projects to develop the country that after 30 years of independence is confused, split and very poor.
