Prizes for most active community teams

The Ministry of Education together with a mobile phone carrier Tuesday offered prizes to the most active teams of the community, kindergarten heads and mayors for promoting the values of children's education. The action forms part of the Help them Become Great People stage of the Education for All – Fast Track Initiative Project that was carried out between September 2009 and April 2010. The first prize went to the community team of Ialpujeni village of Cimislia village, the second prize – to the team of Floritoaia Veche, Ungheni, while the third prize – to the team of Vulcanesti, Nisporeni. The laureates received DVD players, amplifiers, microphones, journals for children and diplomas. Minister of Education Leonid Bujor said the project was a success, the applause given to the Moldovan delegation after presenting the report to the donors in Washington being a proof of this. During the same visit, the delegation of the Ministry of Education obtained the third tranche of the grant provided by the Catalytic Fundy and the Quality Education in Rural Areas Project was extended. A number of 65 kindergartens were renovated and 410 institutions were equipped within the project during three years. There were created 3,520 workplaces.
