The best photographs of the exhibition “Civil society organizations: inspiration by action” were awarded during a festivity at Contact Center on December 9, Info-Prim Neo reports. “All the participants deserve being awarded as every picture is interesting in its way, but we had to select five photos in five sections,” said the head of PRO-NGO Hans Born, a member of the jury. The prize in the “We help the people” section went to the Association “Motivatie”. The young man from the photo was present at the award ceremony. Cornel Baran, 18, is confined to a wheelchair. The Association tried to show what difficulties the persons in wheelchairs encounter when going up the stairs. The Grigoriopol-based Center for Youth Support and Development “Progres” became the winner in the “We develop the local community” section. Irina Topor, the center’s initiative leader, said the exhibition provides many advantages, including the possibility of establishing contacts as it brings together a large number of organizations. The winner in the “We are working together” section is the Balti local office of AISEC. The organization’s representative Evghenii Radiola voiced hope that more such contests will be organized in the future. Another awardee – “Miras Moldova“ from Comrat town – presented the best photograph in the “We preserve the national heritage and ecology. The organization’s coordinator Olga Ceaiuc said the elderly women from the picture form part of a folklore ensemble. The Causeni-based rehabilitation and resocialization center for children in need “Alter Ego“ became the winner in the fifth section – “We take care of the children”. The NGO submitted several photos, but the winner is the picture titled “Mother, I saw you in my dream“. The prizes represent digital cameras. The exhibition will continue until December 20. It is organized by the International Society for Human Rights – Moldovan Section.
