Tens of hectares of land will be expropriated to finalize the construction of the Giurgiulesti Port. Such a draft law got the Government's endorsement and was sent to the Parliament, Info-Prim Neo reports. First deputy premier Igor Dodon, the Economy and Trade Minister, explains that the Government, on the basis of an accord signed in 2005, was to let the investor 120 ha of land to build the objects as the project provides. The question is about an oil terminal and a refinery, goods and passengers terminals and other objects. They have managed to let only 55 ha belonging to the state. The rest of the plots are private property. The Cadaster Agency has made a number of attempts to buy those plots, but has failed. The owners are said to ask for exaggerated prices, and many plots were bought by people from other localities. The formula of declaring such lands as being of national interest was used in other cases, too. Vice premier Dodon says this is the only way to unblock the building works and to finalize the port by fall.
