The fight against corruption and the reformation of the law enforcement agencies are among the priorities of the Party of Action and Solidarity. PAS vice president Olesea Stamate in a TV program said that the government will stage a crackdown on the system of corrupt persons and will replace them with upright persons. The Socialist opposition describes these priorities as divorced from the harsh realities faced by the citizens, while the representatives of the Shor Party say they will be a constructive opposition that will adopt all the bills that are beneficial to the citizens, together with the Socialists and the pro-Europeans, IPN reports.
The PAS representatives said their key priority that coincides with the ideas promoted by President Maia Sandu is to clear the system of corrupt people and to reform the justice sector so that the Republic of Moldova becomes a predictable state for foreign investors.
“The clearing of the state institutions of persons who didn’t fulfill their duties, persons who took part in schemes of corruption, is the top priority. The fight against corruption is our priority and here we have a set of measures that refer to the reformation of NIA, the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office. We will make sure that these institutions are managed by upright and qualified persons,” PAS MP Olesea Stamate stated in the talk show “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1.
With six seats of MP, the representatives of the Shor Party said they will promote their social agenda in the current Legislature and will adopt all the bills aimed at improving people’s lives.
“We understand that the majority will decide, but our position is that we will be a constructive opposition. We are ready to have a dialogue with both of the parties for the people’s benefit. We will continue to pursue our social agenda. I speak about a minimum pension of 10,000 lei, social drugstores, infrastructure projects,” said Shor Party MP Marina Tauber.
For their part, the Socialists describe the priorities of PAS and President Maia Sandu as electoral slogans.
“Why did the recovery of the US$1 billion that is now part of the public debt, the recovery of the Giurgiulești Port, the fate of the Nistru River disappear from the list of priorities? We didn’t see Moldova’s Railways and the problems of farmers among their priorities. What we heard in Parliament on Monday from the President, in a sitting that cost the public budget 1 million lei, were only electoral ideas and slogans,” said MP of the PCRM-PSRM Bloc Vlad Batrîncea.
The MPs come together for a sitting at 10am on July 29. They are to elect the Parliament Speaker and Deputy Speakers and to constitute the Standing Bureau, the parliamentary groups and the permanent commissions.
