Printing of ballots for national constituency under way

The printing of the over 3.4 million ballots for the national constituency for the parliamentary elections of February 24 started on February 13. The ballots are printed at three state-owned publishing houses contracted by the Central Election Commission, namely “Combinatul Poligrafic”, “Tipografia Centrală” and “Universul”, IPN reports.

During a visit to the central publishing house “Tipografia Centrală”, where the printing process was launched, CEC president Alina Russu told the press that a ballot costs 0.33  lei. As many as 1 146 978 ballots will be printed at “Tipografia Centrală”. These will be distributed to electoral offices of polling places in single-member constituencies  No. 38-51.

Alina Russu said that according to the plan of action for organizing and holding the parliamentary elections of February 24, 2019, the ballots will be sent to the district electoral councils starting with February 20 and later to the electoral offices of polling places. A number of 14 security criteria are used for all the ballots.

The ballots for the national constituency will be 390 mm in length and 140 mm in width. They will be printed on matt paper and will be smoky gray in color.
