Prime Ministers will have diplomatic passport for life

Premiers’ diplomatic passports will be valid throughout their life. A bill to this effect was proposed by the Liberal Democratic Party and was passed by Parliament in the first reading. The Communist lawmakers voted against it, arguing it promotes the interests of the ruling alliance, Info-Prim Neo reports. The same bill with amendments to the Law on the Identification Papers of the National Passport System says that the secretary general of the Apparatus of the Moldovan President will also benefit from diplomatic passport, while the deputy secretary general will have a work passport. The legislation now allows only the former heads of state and speakers to keep the diplomatic passport after the end of tenure.
