MPs will hold a plenary session on Friday, November 8, according to the decision of the Permanent Bureau. Prime Minister Maia Sandu's initiative to undertake responsibility for amending the Law on the Prosecutor's Office, assumed on November 6, is on the agenda.

The Parliament sessions is scheduled for 15:00.

On Wednesday, November 6, the government assumed responsibility for amending the Law on the Prosecutor's Office, so that the prime minister would be responsible for preselecting candidates for the General Prosecutor's office. Maia Sandu said that the changes made in September this year did not lead to the expected results of choosing an honest, fair and courageous prosecutor. Although the Ministry of Justice set up a special commission for the preselection of candidates for the General Prosecutor's office, before putting forward the shortlist to the Superior Council of Prosecutors, this task could not be fulfilled due to lack of access for the members of the commission to information regarding the integrity and professionalism of the candidates. Maia Sandu said that she did not identify any other solution other than to assume responsibility to modifying the Law on the Prosecutor's Office, so as to put forward two candidates for the position of General Prosecutor. The head of the executive said that she will not back down or withdraw her initiative and that the socialists have the right to take a decision on the matter in Parliament.

Today, after the Socialist group meeting, President Igor Dodon launched invitations to discuss with the parliamentary majority groups. Asked about the chances of a possible censorship motion, the head of state said that there are high chances of that happening and that a motion is already being drafted, however, everything will become clear after the consultations are held before the Parliament session.

In other news, today, Andrian Candu, Democratic Party MP, said that the party withdraws its motion of censure, filed three weeks ago. According to the Democrat, the decision was made in order to "unlock the Parliament's activity". He added that this does not mean that the PDM no longer wants the resignation of the current government, which he considers to be "the worst since the independence of the Republic of Moldova".
