Priests face fines for holding services involving parishioners

A number of priests from three villages of Soroca district are liable to fines because they held services inside churches with the participation of parishioners. The owner of a nightclub based in Chisinau also faces fines for not respecting the rules of preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus and staged a party for a group of young people.

Soroca Police Inspectorate press officer Svetlana Talpă has told IPN that the priests of two churches situated in Racovăț village held services inside churches with the involvement of parishioners on April 4. The priests face a fine of 22,500 lei for not respecting the measures to prevent and combat epidemic diseases.

The priests of two churches located in Băxani and Vădeni villages of Soroca district face the same penalty for holding services on April 5.

The General Police Inspectorate said that ten persons aged between 20 and 30 were caught celebrating a birthday party at a nightclub in Rascani district of Chisinau on the night of April 5.

The persons were allowed by the owner of the nightclub to celebrate there. The owner is liable to a fine of 75,000 lei.
